LITERACY SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS IN K-12

👩🏻‍🏫 Hi! I’m Ashley Warren, an educator based in Reno. I am a literacy specialist and provide customized private tutoring for students in kindergarten through high school.

I hold a Master’s degree in Literacy Studies from the University of Nevada-Reno and am a licensed substitute teacher for the Washoe County School District, focusing on elementary school. I serve as the director of the Storytelling Collective, an online learning program for creative storytellers that supports more than 15,000 writers worldwide.

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my engineer husband and our preschooler, Julietta. I enjoy creative writing, traveling, knitting, gardening, decorating my home, and delving into a new historical era every few weeks. Teaching and writing are my greatest passions and I can’t wait to help your student develop their own love for literacy!

My teaching philosophy:

All students must learn to read and write—these are not just skills required for school, but for life. Everyone learns differently and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. My goal is not just to help your student thrive in the classroom, but also to foster an internal, self-motivated love for writing and reading in all of its forms so they can navigate life with confidence and critical thinking.

Tutoring sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays between 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. starting August 4th

How it works

✨ I will craft a tailored tutoring plan based on your student’s needs and considerations.

🍎 You’ll book your student’s appointment, with the choice to do a one-time session or an ongoing weekly session with me. A deposit is required at sign-up so I can hold your student’s spot.

☕ You and your student will come to Scribemind Studio, my comfortable private office in a converted condo. Parents and guardians can enjoy coffee and nibbles while their student is learning with me.

✅ After each session, I’ll update your student’s custom plan with milestones and next steps, including what they can practice at home or at school until I meet with them again.
